Tutorial for WINKS Forest Plot
The following tutorial describes how to create Forest Plot using WINKS (Professional Edition) 6.91 and later.
Step 1: Prepare the data file. (for this example, open FOREST.SDA) The file must contain 6 variables (at least) as indicated here. (You can name them anything you want.) but you must have variables representing Study name, Odds Ratio, Lower Limit, Upper Limit, and relative Weight (Sample Size).

Step 2: Open the data set contain ing your Forest Plot data in WINKS. Select Analyze --> Meta-Analysis --> Forest Plot. The following dialog box is displayed.
Select the variables as indicated. Click on a variable name in the left list and click "Add-->" to place the variable name in the appropriate list on the right. Click Ok to contine with the analysis. The following plot is displayed:

Step 3: The original plot is with all of the defaults.To change the look of the plot, click on the menu items Option --> Plot Option to display the options dialog box:

Step 4: Note the two table -- select Plot Specs Tab to change specification about the plot such as the width on the screen, and color for the box, and background, among other things. For this example, change the Box Color to Red and the Background to light yellow.
Step 5: Select the Labels Tab.

- Select the Title Font and change it to 18 points and Bold.
- Click on the "Same" button for the column Labels and change the color to Blue
- Change the Studies font sixe to 14.
- Click Plot to display the plot with the selected options:

Step 6: Form the file menu you can also:
- Print the plot
- Save to a BMP file
- Capture to the Clipboard
